DID YOU KNOW YOU COULD HELP WITH FUNERAL LUNCHEONS

....that we have FUNERAL LUNCEONS? That parishioners provide a luncheon for family and friends following the Funeral ? Many of us didn't even know how or if all that happened. Funeral Luncheons grew out of the Women's Club and their mission to serve the Church. Some manage the meal itself. Some set up and set the tables and chairs. Some provide cassaroles and desserts. That "some" grows smaller every year. They need you---men and women, during the week,

This is an opportunity to serve the Lord and each other in a time of sorrow. It is an opportunity to help lift up those who have lost someone they loved. I know. I have been the recipient of the Parish's generosity through the service of the Funeral Luncheon ministry. I know that it makes a difference for the family and friends. I know of someone who started going back to Church in North Ridgeville, Ohio after my Mother's Funeral and Luncheon

The Funeral Luncheon Ministry is asking you, men and women to help.. The ministry needs men and women to help set up of tables and chairs, take down tables and chairs, to make cassaroles and desserts, to manage the kitchen, to call the volunteers for the food, to buy the lunch meats and cheeses for sandwiches.

The Ministry needs lots of volunteers. And as always, the more who respond to this need, the less any one person needs to do.

A big thank you to all who have taken care of our needs at a difficult time. You take care of our physical needs, to be sure. You also take care with our emotional and spiritual needs as well.

Funerals come in at all different times - from Monday through Saturday. Are you available to help on one or two or more of those days? Please consider this call to serve. And then call the Parish Center and ask for Rosie (847-516-2636)

This is accomplished through traditional forms of communication as well as the use of social media especially the parish website. The Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month. Stewardship Commission

This commission helps us become aware of how to live stewardship by sharing our gifts through time, talent and treasure. The Stewardship Commission helps the parish keep stewardship as our focus of activities.

What is Stewardship?

Stewardship is a way of life. It is a central theme of the Bible, which tells us that we are accountable to God for all the gifts of time, talent and treasure that God entrusts to us. Further, the emphasis is on the personal need of each one of us to return to God a truly grateful portion of our time, talent and treasure in thanksgiving for all that God has given us.

What is Sacrificial Giving?

Sacrificial giving is a spiritually motivated way for us to carry out the stewardship of our treasure (our money) based on four principles:

1. We return a first portion of our income in gratitude to God.
2. Our gift is a sacrifice.
3. We use the Biblical tithe, 10 percent of our income as a guide for giving.
4. We contribute on a planned basis by using envelopes, automatic withdrawal or credit cards.

For additional information please call Rosie at the Parish Office: (847) 516-AMEN (2636).

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee considers all aspects of the finances of the parish including budgeting, fiscal policy, and long range planning. The board consists of nine parishioner board members, business manager, Pastor and Associate Pastor.

Regular meetings are held on the Fourth Wednesday of each month.

The Finance Committee, in concert with the Pastor, provides sound financial policies that service the needs of the Parish and embrace the spiritual principles of the community. The finances of SS. Peter & Paul Parish, based upon a commitment to Stewardship by the parishioners, are coordinated by the committee through budget preparation, review of financial records, monitoring of revenue and expenses against budget, and analysis of investment options and capital outlays. The committee meets once per month and members carry liaison responsibilities to the other committees as well as serve on subcommittees as needed. All decisions are made by consensus of the committee and advisory to the Pastor.

For additional information please call the Parish Office: (847) 516-AMEN (2636).

Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council envisions and vocalizes parish plans for the future. Through shared prayer and openness to the Holy Spirit, the Council formulates the Parish Mission Statement which states that "SS. Peter and Paul is a Catholic community of faith, love, evangelization and stewardship."

In conjunction with the priests and the parish staff, the Pastoral Council calls all groups within the parish to be connected and pointed in the same direction. The Pastoral Council consists of the pastor, the associate pastor, one staff representative and nine parishioners.

Decisions are made through consensus, and meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month.

SS. Peter & Paul Women’s Club

The Women's Club, the oldest organization in the parish, is open to all women from our parish.

All women (age 18 and over) of the Parish are automatically members of the Women's Club.  Active members are those who put the purpose of the Club into action.  The purpose is to provide the opportunity to advance spiritually and intellectually, to engage in Catholic lay action and promote the activities of the Church.  Members who wish a very active part in the activities of the Club can join one of the Guilds.  The Women's Club is an excellent means of giving your time and talent back to God, and of meeting the women active in the life of the Church.

We sponsor many events such as: Mother/Daughter Breakfast, and spiritual works of Mercy. We donate to some school needs. We also coordinate the Church Marthas, St. Joseph's Table, and serving of funeral luncheons.

The club meets monthly, September through May.
