Chastity & Safe Environment Programs
Chastity & Safe Environment
The Charter for Protection for Children adopted by the Conference of Catholic Bishops began requiring parishes and schools to provide instruction to students in the area of safety and integrity of their person. To assist our families with this important task the Rockford Diocese designed a program called “Formation in Christian Chastity and Safe Environment” and in 2009 mandated that instruction be given yearly. The idea is to partner with parents to provide the necessary instruction. Parents will receive material to help guide their own discussion with their children. The Religious Education Program will provide a classroom presentation on chastity and safety.
Ministry of Care
The ministers of care support the needs of the sick, confined, and elderly. We seek to connect these people with our community by reaching out to them with compassion. Holy Eucharist is brought to area hospitals, nursing homes and homebound.
For additional information or if you know someone who needs a visit, please call the Parish Office: (847) 516-AMEN (2636).
Community Companions
This group seeks to provide companionship to a homebound person so the 24 hour caregiver can have one to three hours of respite.
If you are in need of such a companion, please call Sr. Margaret Mary at 847-5162636 ext.234.
