SS. Peter & Paul Church offers a variety of ways to learn more about the Catholic faith. All are welcome, Catholics and those seeking to know more about Catholicism.

  • Rite of Christain Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a peocess for adults (ages 8-98) who wish to explore the possibility of converting to Catholicism.
  • Why Catholic? is a program that runs each spring and fall for six weeks each that offers a small group format for exploring the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
  • Christ Renews His Parish is a weekend retreat held each spring that offers a time to focus on a personal relationship with Jesus as we live it out in the Body of Christ--the Parish.
  • Natural Family Planning is a scientific, reliable and couple-enriching method of respecting God's plan for marriage and family.

Catholics Returning Home

If you are a Catholic who feels separated from your Church, we would like to invite you home and help in any way we can to make that happen. Christ Renews His Parish

This is a weekend experience to which both men and women are invited. The weekend provides an excellent opportunity to get away from home, work and other pressures in order to allow you to get in touch with your faith and your God. It is a chance to meet with and listen to the experiences of other men and women of the Parish.

The entire weekend is informal and meals, refreshments and facilities are provided for you by the Parish. You stay overnight at the Parish. The weekend begins on Saturday morning at 8:00am and ends around 4:00pm on Sunday afternoon.

Cursillo (pronounced ker-SEE-Yo) is a Christian movement for adults that begins with a three day weekend of learning, sharing, and living in a Christian community.  A retreat in which teams of lay persons talk about living Christian values daily.

Following the weekend, participants are encouraged to meet in small groups for supporting their spiritual lives.  Cursillos are held twice a year in our diocese, each with a weekend for men and women.

Marriage Encounter
This weekend is an opportunity for married couples to look deeply into their relationship with each other and with God.   It is for any couple who wants to enrich their marriage through an emphasis on communication. Generally speaking, Encounter weekends are held monthly.
