"Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?" – Matthew 26:40
Spending time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is one of the greatest gifts we can offer Him—and one of the greatest blessings we can receive. Our Adoration Sentry ministry is made up of parishioners who commit to spending one hour each week on Tuesday or Thursday during the day with Our Lord during Eucharistic Adoration.
As an Adoration Sentry, your primary role is simply to be present with Jesus in prayer. You may pray the Rosary, read Scripture, reflect in silence, pray the Liturgy of the Hours, or simply rest in the Lord's presence. Your faithful hour of prayer becomes a powerful witness of love and intercession for our parish, our community, and the world.
In addition to praying, Adoration Sentries help ensure that the Blessed Sacrament is never left unattended by faithfully keeping their scheduled hour. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you find a substitute or notify the Adoration Coordinator so coverage can be arranged.
Whether you have spent years in Eucharistic Adoration or are just beginning, we invite you to answer Christ's invitation to spend one hour with Him each week. Many who commit to this ministry discover that the hour they give to Jesus becomes the most peaceful and life-giving hour of their week.
